Job Summary

The Regional Engineer will be the core liaison between Engineering and Operations, and the scope will include supporting the sustaining activity for our existing product line and the development of new and improved products and processes.

Job Functions

  • Ensure that the field/trial execution stages of engineering projects, both sustaining and development, are successfully implemented and monitored
  • Act as communication liaison between OKC Engineering and Operations, as required
  • Support bringing new products to the market by analyzing costs, and determining engineering, manufacturing, testing, and field service requirements
  • Perform detailed analysis relevant to field performance of electrical submersible and horizontal pumping systems and components, establish design practices and procedures
  • Monitor Engineering Change Request (ECR’s), feedback from operations, failure analysis, warranty and sales request issues to identify potential product/technology improvement needs/opportunities; and collaborate with other business units to assess feasibility of new product/technology development projects
  • Provide technical leadership in the design and development of AL and related pumping systems. Responsible for the design, integration, and compliance of the system to the design specifications
  • Develop and test new designs to implement new products or technologies

Education/License/Certifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical) or related technical field or equivalent combination of education, training or experience is required for this position
  • Certification on technical writing preferred
  • Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license

Experience

At least two years of AL, ESP and/or HPS engineering or sales experience is required for this position

Skills/Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of ESP components and assembly, e.g., motors, seals, pumps
  • Expertise in the areas of GD&T, tolerance analysis, statistical analysis, design of experiments, FEA, thermal design, and fluid mechanics, OR fundamentals of electrical design
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and ERP systems preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Perform work which requires standing and walking the majority of the time, with fingering, handling, feeling, eye-hand and eye-hand-foot coordination required
  • Operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator
  • Routinely perform work on computer for an average of 4-6 hours per day, when necessary
  • Major reliance on vision abilities including near, far, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision
  • Major reliance on hearing abilities
  • Work extended hours whenever required or requested by management
  • Capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance

Work Environment

  • Work performed routinely in climate-controlled office environment, open manufacturing environment and outdoors in sometimes inclement weather
  • May have moderate exposure to loud noise; moderate exposure to mechanical, electrical, and moving object hazards; and moderate exposure to odors, mists, dusts, oil/grease, dirt and gases typical of manufacturing environment
