Job Summary

The Quality Manager is responsible to manage the Quality system and direct employees to help to ensure Valiant’s products and services meet all the necessary Quality standards before they reach the customer.

Job Functions

  • Customarily and regularly manage direct reports to maximize productivity, efficiency, and the potential of the human assets of Valiant ALS, including directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, training, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies, and work rules
  • Provide regular and routine feedback and assessment on performance to each subordinate and provide recommendations for staff compensation, promotion, termination actions, and hiring as appropriate
  • Direct job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, and training to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies, and work rules
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of quality policies, procedures and programs related to the company’s Quality Management System
  • Manage the company’s First Article program, ensuring compliance and corrective measures
  • Oversee the NCR process, closing all NCRs to full resolution
  • Assist with the development of the Company’s Quality objectives, monitoring progress and recommending and implementing corrective actions, as necessary
  • Partner with operations and other functions to understand needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes
  • Provide input into developing requirements for raw material or intermediate products for suppliers and monitor their compliance
  • Oversee all product quality procedures to identify deviations from quality standards
  • Provide leadership and expertise in the ISO 9001 quality management program
  • Assist Engineering and regional personnel in troubleshooting reliability and quality issues
  • Develops a robust inspection process and assists with the inspection of material and equipment for compliance
  • Lead external and internal Quality audits
  • Play a lead role in the NCMR process, ensuring thorough analysis, dispositions, recommendations, and communication
  • Facilitate Material Review Board meetings
  • Manage the Measurement & Test Equipment calibration program
  • Comply with Company policy and procedures, whether written or communicated verbally, including the instructions and directions from individuals in direct supervisory positions

Education/License/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or quality, or equivalent experience in Quality Assurance/Control and appropriate advanced education

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ technical experience in QA/QC in the oil and gas industry

Skills/Knowledge

  • Basic computer skills (MS Office including Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Basic data and statistical analysis process skills
  • Working knowledge of measurement tools used in Quality, including micrometers, calipers, gauges
